Super Chill

A Year of Living Anxiously

eBook - 2018

Adam's comics deal with weightier topics like seasonal affective disorder and struggles with self-esteem, while also touching on the silly and absurd-like his brief, but intense obsession with crystals. With a bright, positive outlook and a sense of humor, Super Chill tells a story that is both highly relatable and intensely personal.

My scale is 1-5. 1 being poor/low and 5 being great/high.

Age Group: YA to Adult

Year Published: 2018

Illustrations: ★★★★★
I am absolutely in love with the illustrations! I lost count of how many time I laughed out loud while reading this. I will forever cherish the memories of kicking back in my hotel room on vacation with my girlfriends laughing as we read these comics together.

Relatable: ★★★★★
A lot! Even though he is a guy I could relate to his antics as an introvert who loves books and humor behind human interactions/social protocols.

Humor: ★★★★★
I think I already wrote enough on this front in the ‘illustrations’ section. Yes, this comic was so funny that if I find it for a good price I will add it to my forever-library.

Continue? ★★★★★
Yes, I will continue reading from this amazing author.

Unfortunately, Ellis feels like he is trying much too hard to be relatable/likeable, making the whole thing feel disingenuous and formulaic.
