Born (1933) into absolute poverty in the town of Barnwell, South Carolina - (singer/songwriter/dancer) James Brown (a tireless live performer) is considered to be a major figure of 20th century pop music.

A winner of multiple music awards - Brown (aka. the "Godfather of Soul") had a very busy career as a performer (starting in 1953) that spanned for 50 years.

This "Singles" collection is a 2-disc set containing nearly 40 tracks in all which were recorded by Brown (along with accompanying musicians) in the years from 1972-1973.

Two of my favourites are - "I Got Ants In My Pants" and "Think".

*Note* - On Dec. 25th, 2006 - James Brown (73 at the time) died of congestive heart failure.
