Rebels Arrested for Insurrection or Treason in Upper Canada, 1837-1838
Taken From The Life and Times of Wm. Lyon Mackenzie by Charles Lindsey, 1862
William Lyon Mackenzie created a muster roll of his supporters during the Rebellion of 1837. "This register is a complete transcription of that muster roll. It contains an alphabetical surname list of dissidents, shown on a geographical district by district basis, and includes first name and occupation at the time of their arrest. It also provides the date of their trial, and it's outcome, showing dates of discharge if applicable or whether they were awaiting trial or sentencing at the time of preparation of this report."--p. 1. Ontario was known as "Upper Canada" from 1791 to 1841.
