Creativity, the power of imagination, and the importance of self-expression are celebrated in this beautiful picture book by real-life best friends Samantha Berger and Mike Curato.
This girl is determined to express herself! If she can't draw her dreams, she'll sculpt or build, carve or collage. If she can't do that, she'll turn her world into a canvas. And if everything around her is taken away, she'll sing, dance, and dream...
Stunning mixed media illustrations, lyrical text, and a breathtaking gatefold conjure powerful magic in this heartfelt affirmation of art, imagination, and the resilience of the human spirit.

I liked this book because it had a lot of detail and the writing matched the pictures. I would recommend it because it is not that hard to read. If you lose all of the writing tools like pencils, paper, colors, she still had her mind. This is a good book for kids age 5 or older. by Savaya

I liked this book because I can relate to the girl. I am creative and she is creative too. It reminded me of myself. For example, she liked the colour purple and I like it too. I liked the ending of the book because all my favourite things were there: unicorns, rainbows, and birds. Areeba

This book was my favourite because I liked the art in this book. I loved that nothing can take away imagination. Maryam

This book is going to win awards. It really fills a niche for helping kids cope with the unexpected and explains how creativity can help one stay happy by dreaming and working with what is available, despite adversity. Beautifully written and illustrated.

Mike Curato takes mixed media to a whole new level. He uses his traditional style of pencil and digital color and includes everything from origami to plain old playing in the dirt... check out how he did it here http://blaine.org/sevenimpossiblethings/?p=4593
