After her husband's death, Angie Drum inherited his newspaper, The Opportunity Outlook, and the responsibility of publishing it. She does her best to print the truth but finds herself at odds with the Kansas town's entrepreneurs -including her son, the mayor of Opportunity. Then a prominent Texas rancher commits suicide, just after his team of drovers sold their stock.
