This is the story of 1896 Klondike gold rush and the incredible hardship of men requiring strength, determination and resolve. This is not Berton's best work but it does give very vivid descriptions with anecdotes of some fascinating characters like Bill Gates who bathed in champagne and Sam Bonnifield who won and lost a hotel in a poker game.
