Aimee Leduc, private investigator specialising in computer security, has been introduced to the Cao Dai temple in Paris by her partner Rene Friant. He urges her to learn to meditate. The Vietnamese nun Linh has been helping Aimee to reach her goal so when she asks Aimee for a favour - to go to the Clichy quartier to exchange an envelope for a package - Rene prompts Aimee to agree. However, the intended recipient is shot dead and Aimee is left with a wounded arm, a cheque for 50,000 francs and a trove of ancient jade artifacts. Whoever killed Baret wants the jade, badly.

(The fifth book in the Aimee Leduc series)

A fine fluffy beach read, better than many. My biggest complaint: does the author really think that we the reader can possibly have forgotten that Aimee's partner Rene is a dwarf? for heaven's sake she mentions it every time she mentions the character and in every single book and frankly I find it quite detracting. Isn't he a person? Its like the old drinking game where you drank every time someone said "bob" on "The Newhart Show." Also in this book I sadly realized she is not always accurate on her descriptions of Paris streets.
