Evolve Your Brain does a good job explaining the different parts of the brain and what functions they perform. Dispenza explains how the brain has evolved over time and also explains how and why we revert to primitive brain functions when under stress. If you want to change your brain, this is a good book to first learn how it works and what you can do about conditioning your brain.

This book is a "should read" for everyone, but a "must read" for those who have read "The Secret" but are not experiencing the results promised.

The author explains, from a scientific prospective, how the brain, mind and body work together to create the reality that we live on a daily basis. Our habitual thoughts and feelings literally create patterns in our brain that repeat themselves and which may result in us experiencing the same difficult challenges over and over. Dr Dispenza explains that our thoughts and feelings influence our brain and body but also our brain and body influence our thoughts and feelings.

He writes "When we unconsciously feel the same feelings every single day we create more of the familiar...To rise above the familiar and routine and to become inspired is the true energy of creation." He explains in a fairly easy to read style how by using our mind/thoughts to focus on improving our quality of life we are literally creating changes in our brains that will help to bring this to fruition. We must think new thoughts and create new experiences. He writes to "To lift mind out of the body and put it back where it belongs-in the brain-is a true act of human will." We're sometimes told that we spend too much time in our "heads." That simply means that we spend too much time thinking the same thoughts over and over and experiencing the same feelings over and over. They become familiar to us almost like an addiction and then we wonder why our lives don't change or improve.

The authors of "The Secret" stress the importance of feelings while Dr Dispenza stresses the importance and responsiblity of choosing thoughts that match our dreams and/or goals and the work that goes along with that. We will create new positive feelings, but must remember to view feelings only as a monitor or signal that let us know where we are on this journey. The author makes it clear that feelings are important and are associated with the new thoughts we choose to think, but if we choose to have a reality based on feelings alone we may never reach our potential. I highly recommend this book.
