Frank Cotton's insatiable appetite for the dark pleasures of pain led him to the puzzle of Lemarchand's box, and from there, to a death only a sick-minded soul could invent. But his brother's love-crazed wife, Julia, has discovered a way to bring Frank back--though the price will be bloody and terrible . . . and there will certainly be hell to pay.

As far as my black little heart is concerned, no one does horror like Clive Barker. His approach is distinctly unique; somehow amidst the darkness and gore, there's an inherit beauty to his work. The way Barker absolutely nails what it means to feel loss, desire, fear, and our most hidden emotions that we keep locked away is something completely original and completely unforgiving.

Barker adapted this short novel for his film "Hellraiser." Pinhead gives it two flesh-rending, gleaming metal hooks up.
