Here is a classic of French cinema by the director of "The Red Balloon." It has been gloriously restored to its 1953 Cannes Festival Grand Prix clarity. Although it is quite a short film, it overflows with passion and pathos.
I think this is directed by the same person as The Red Balloon film. There is a little bit more speech in this film than "Le Ballon Rouge". It tells the story of a poor, young boy who fishes for a living, and a wild horse that no one seems to be able to tame.
Beautiful. Haunting. But short: 45'.
