San Francisco's Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC) emerged in the early 00s during the so-called garage rock revival. The band was almost proudly derivative, but boy were they cool: black leather jackets, a name taken from "The Wild One," a f you attitude, and punishing volume. Their second album picks up where their debut left off. There's a 60s garage rawness, a punk spirit, a dark, brooding spirit (the Velvets), and a squalling wall of guitars, which comes from the Jesus and Mary Chain. It is cool rock and roll, but it's very familiar. The cover references "A Clockwork Orange."
