Review on “Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure vol.1” This is an alternate Pokémon adventures series with a different story line that was written by Shigekatsu Ihara and published in 2008. This is the story of a boy named Hareta who lives and was raised by the forest Pokémon. They taught everything he knows; therefore he has a very strong connection with all Pokémon. One day, his “grandfather”, world renowned Pokémon expert Professor Rowan, gives him an offer he can’t refuse. He tells him that he thinks that Hareta should go on a journey to travel throughout the Sinnoh region and try and meet the legendary Pokémon known as Dialga. Hareta jumps at the chance, and his first challenge as a trainer comes almost immediately when a rampaging Onix begins to attack the rest of the forest Pokémon. Hareta must react quickly, and chooses the Water-type starter Pokémon, Piplup. At first Piplup’s pride prevents Hareta from giving it orders, but soon Piplup realizes that Hareta truly cares for it, and accepts him as his trainer. They calm down the Onix, and Hareta leaves Sandgem Town to begin his journey, accompanied by Professor Rowan’s loyal and trusted assistant, Mitsumi. They’re first stop is Jubilife town, where Hareta’s out of his element, not being used to the big city. He encounters a shady group of people with astronaut clothes and blue, bowl-cut hair. They reveal that they’re members of an evil organization known as Team Galactic, and they subdue Hareta when he tries to stop them. Will Hareta be able to escape, or will his training journey end before it even started? This alternate Pokémon adventures series is worth a look.

Best book ever!!!

I loved this story. Excellent characters and lots of humor. The art was pretty good, too. Objectionable content: Some toilet-type humor. Also, one Team Galactic grunt is known by his rather large backside, which often gets slapsticked for comedic effect.

Very funny that misdreavus scared the pants off of Mitsumi and Gardenia. When the idiot (Hareta) was swinging of the branches, weird that he gonked his head hard into a tree trunk.
