Another excellent BBC documentary; boy, they do it right! Great blend of old photos, present-day interviews, and re-enactments. Watch one episode (3 per disc) at a time to avoid brain overload.

Dramatic re-enactments interspersed with brief interviews of elderly victims/witnesses/players in these horrible but momentous events. Most of the acting is very fine--the actor playing Stalin himself is extraordinarily good, the actor playing Lavrenty Beria made my skin crawl in his role. Plenty of on-site scenery and a decent narrator. Really lays bare the terrible hardship and attempted elimination of the Polish nation as a result of the secret pact between Stalin and Hitler. Overall, well worth a watch.
