This was a very well-written book with characters I could really identify with.

This book starts out very strongly, with a wonderfully eccentric British cast of characters as well as a gothic-influenced mystery. However, it takes a turn around 1/3 through and becomes more about Hollywood and celebrity. I felt the change in the book was jarring, but a few other reviews I've read haven't had a problem with it. However, the characters are well done.
