From Library Staff

When it first started airing on the Fox network 1993, hardly anyone thought that The X-Files would be a hit; they didn't know if it would even last the season. The show went on to have nine seasons, a spin-off, and two feature films (so far).

When the X Files was being telecast, I did not bother watching it because I thought it was just another SCI-FI and I was enough of a snob to think it beneath my intelligence.

So, guess what, I have just discovered the X Files and am entranced with it!

First, it is very low key and does not have all the bells and whistles that current productions have.

The writing is superb. The acting is calm and enjoyable.

Mr. Duchovny and Ms. Anderson are a delight.

It does not hurt that the series was produced in B.C. and has many outdoor shots of Vancouver and environs. Gives a nice Canadian flavour to it.

So happy that EPL has this.
