A FUN AND FABULOUS GUIDE TO MODERN-RETRO SOPHISTICATION, CELEBRATING TWO ICONIC AMERICAN WOMEN WHO DEFINE TIMELESS STYLE

The First Lady versus the Hollywood starlet. The Vassar girl versus the teenager who dropped out of Hollywood High after six months. One woman was known for wearing Chanel suits to White House functions while the other was known for waring Chanel No.5 to bed-and nothing else. On the surface they appear to be polar opposites, but that is not the full story.

Are you Jackie or a Marilyn? It's an enigma women have pondered for ages-even before the days of Camelot and Some Like It Hot . Will you get more out of life as the good girl or the bombshell, or is it better to channel a little of both? Though JKO and MM never met, their lives intersected in countless ways, from fending off the paparazzi to rumors about JFK. And yet, in spite of the intense interest that always surrounded them, they handled their public lives with unmatched assurance, and women today could learn a thing or two from their example.

Are you a Jackie or Marilyn? explores this enduring riddle in modern terms, while dispensing entertaining lessons on love, power, style, and more. This inspiration in this real life guide draws on factual, little-known details from Jackie's and Marilyn's public and private lives, and their signature ways of handling various situations-from dinner parties and getting ahead in their careers to considering marriage proposals and maintaining their beauty.

Any woman who has aspired to Marilyn's take-no-prisoners allure or Jackie's innate elegance, or who wants to balance sexy and serious, will revel in this guide to harnessing the power of femininity and living a big life.

I think the most interesting part of this book were the tidbits on Marilyn and Jackie's personalities. I think that what's generally said about there being two archetypes women fall into are pretty accurate. But I wouldn't declare them the standard. The advice on life shouldn't be taken too seriously.
