If you're like me and crying easily during pregnancy, I would not recommend this book. Written for American audiences, a number of claims it makes are not actually useful for the Canadian health care system - but more importantly, it is written in a very sarcastic, overly graphic way which is meant to be light hearted and humorous, but for this overly-sensitive-mother-to-be, it was too much! My husband would come home to find me clutching the book, in tears on several occassions. Some of the descriptions put me in a bad mood for days. The author is highly opinionated about some pregnancy 'norms' and while this is meant to be reassuring and encouraging a lot of her advice has been quite unhelpful for someone like me - who is having a very different pregnancy! If you read this book, don't make it the only pregnancy book you pick up!

Loved this book. All pregnant woman should read this book. It did not contain a lot of medical terms but had great advice for moms who have gone thru the whole pregnancy experience...
