I can't help comparing this show to Buffy the Vampire Slayer of which it is a spinoff. It's not as good. The relationship between the characters seems unlikely and the whole premise seems forced. The writing not as good either.

One of the sets of Season Three owned by the library has some badly damaged DVDs in it. You can't tell how badly damaged they are from looking at them, but they keep causing my laptop's media player to freeze. The damage has ruined my experience of watching a handful of episodes so far, and I've literally spent hours waiting to see if I could get past the damaged segments, manually ejecting the damaged DVDs, restarting them from the beginning, and trying to navigate to a viewable spot. (Boy, is this one time I miss video tapes, which weren't as difficult to handle in situations like this; you'd simply fast-forward past the bad parts rather than having everything shut down on you.) I'll include a note about the damage when I return the set, but I also wanted to post a warning here, along with this Web site that has transcripts of the episodes: I had to resort to reading the transcripts for segments I couldn't get to play despite numerous attempts.
