Summary
Add a SummaryQuill is an island where creativity is considered a crime. There is three main ranks in Quill. The high priest, wanteds, necessaries and the unwanteds. The High priests is Justine, she rules Quill, Wanted's goes to universities and learns math, military tactics etc, necessaries do labour work and the unwanteds gets sent to their death on the day of purge… so everybody thought. There are no holidays in Quill except on the day of Purge. At age 13, those kids are going to be judged between a wanted, a necessary and an unwanted. Alex Stowe and Aaron Stowe are twins. Alex is being sent to Death farm where the unwanteds die and Aaron is going to be a wanted. When Aex along with the the Unwanteds are at the death farm, Marcus Today saves them all and teleports them to Artime a place of freedom, where people can learn magic, express themselves, all the things a normal person would do. Artime has now been discovered and the war has started, will Artime manage to defend themselves from the wrath of Quill and will Alex have the strength to fight Aaron his twin brother.
In this society, creativity is frowned upon. small infractions of the law can turn you into an Unwanted, a child who is eliminated at thirteen. Alex and his twin are separated at the choosing, for one is Wanted, the other an Unwanted. But nothing is how it seems, for instead of losing his life, he finds a new one full of magic and wonder. The country must be saved from the mysterious powers that are ruling it with cruel force.

really nice book
Really good series. Would recommend it to anyone! It is One of my favorite series!!!
Best series ever. I've been trying to think of a better book that I've read but i don't think there is one and i don't think there ever will be.
the series is better than harry potter
I picked up the book one year and never got around to finishing it. Seemed a little slow and choppy in the beginning. I just started again and continued to the second book and WOW! If I had any doubts before, they were utterly destroyed by the amazing writing and plot line of the series as it continued.
This book is so amazing! The creativity in it is endless! This book is one of those kinds where you can never ever put it down. (I read it in 2 days because I couldn't put the book down!) Reccommended to people of age 10 and(/or) above. Hats off to Lisa McMann!
This book is among my favorites!
This book was probably the first book that really got me into the love of reading. I loved the message I got from the book; how even if you feel unwanted or different there's a whole other world of people just like you, and that you shouldn't hide your creativity and imagination. This book gave so many twists and turns, that overall gave me an emotional roller coaster, being scared, to intrigued and everything in between. This book created a world in my mind I would love to be in! I loved the characters the author had created, and the relationships they had with each other. I have to fully agree with Kirkus Reviews that it is a mix of Hunger Games and Harry Potter. It made my mind whirl with all the possibilities of what could happen next, and boosted my own imagination to think of living in the wonderful world! I loved the overall plot of this book, and it is a novel I will definitely read again, 5/5 stars!
Also, just as a side note, all seven of the books in this series are amazing and they all really develop the story and plot!
