The title intrigued me. Who wouldn’t like “spontaneous happiness”? Unfortunately, 90% of the book seemed to dwell on depression. There were So Many CDs, maybe 11. Mercifully they were each not terribly lengthy. I summarized it for my husband in a few sentences. In my opinion, just listen to the last 1 or 2 CDs. If at all. A disappointment from Dr Weil, who I have read before and enjoyed.

I'm a skeptic and have heard many negative things about Dr. Weils. I did not find any crazy things in this audiobook. It's more about how our physical health can affect our emotional health which in turn affects our physical health. Seems like common sense to me.

Practical, helpful, well-researched advice for improved emotional well-being. I enjoyed hearing his voice (he is the reader as well as the write), and find Dr. Weil to be a calming, positive influence as I drive. This isn't a book that tries to tell you you should be crazy happy every day--and it accepts that ups and downs are part of a normal life--it's more about finding a good mid-point of contentment. It's another example of a book I might have found to be a bit dry if I were reading it, but quite enjoyable, helpful, and relaxing as an audiobook.
