I agree with redwallflower, the ending was anticlimactic and disappointing. I expected some sort of a resolution and explanation of the story's mysteries. Nevertheless, the penmanship is extremely good, the scenes are really well described, if somewhat excessively in places, and the study of the characters' emotional turmoil is fabulous. All in all the book is worth a read but don't expect a great reveal at the end.

One great yarn. Very well-designed. Caustic analysis of vagaries of campus life: hypocritical administrators, brutal sorority girls, and the tormented outsiders. The focus placed on the living seeing the walking dead is tenable for almost all of us. & it’s a most captivating premise. A hard book to put down—which is probably the key ingredient for popular success.

It took me a while to get into this book and get used to the ever shifting perspectives and timeframes, but when I did I was hooked. And then I was disappointed by a rushed and murky ending. Definitely a let down.

Gripping story of the murder of a popular sorority member.
Chatelaine Book Club Pick April 2011: "A smart, dark and fun read that will make you relieved you never have to live through Greek Week again, as sister or regular student."
