“A haunted-house movie that has some of the most shivery and indelible images I've seen in any horror film in decades. Yes, it's that unsettling.”

This is one of my favourite horror movies of all time! It shows how much the parent loves the child who is troubled/possessed by the unknown. Many creepy/unexpected scenes, which could be confusing/strange at first, but as you watch near the middle and end, all the jigsaw pieces eventually come together. Everything is just connected one way or another. The parent goes on a very similar/familiar adventure in another realm of space...There are 3 other series that follow this first one. I strongly recommend this to anyone who is always up for new horror adventures!!!!

The long, slow, panning shots and the lack of reliance on jump scares are what make this movie. If you're into good movies that fall into the 'suspense/horror' category, this is worth checking out.

I didn't find it very scary, but still a fun horror movie. I like the lore and story more than the scares honestly. I haven't seen the sequels, but I've heard that watching them makes the first one better.

Insidious is the movie franchise that only gets better with each movie. These movies are my absolute favourite horrors because they not only stop your heart with fear but they also tell a complex story. To really appreciate the world you must watch all four of them to see how they are all so deeply woven into each other.

I wanted to like this movie, I really did. However, the constant crying baby in the beginning and that annoying burglar alarm just killed my viewing pleasure. I shut it off during the alarm scene.

Just like any other horror movie, a family moves to a new house and scary things happen; except in this movie, the family moved houses twice, thinking that moving houses was the solution. This movie definitely contained numerous amounts of unexpected jump scares. The part when Elise tells everyone what the problem was, the way she explained it gave me chills and goosebumps. The climax of this movie was really well done. I think “The further” was a good feature to add in this movie. The ending was obviously pointing out that there is a sequel. Overall, this movie might give you nightmares when you sleep.

Insidious is one of the best horror movies I ever watched. Its captivating to watch and it truly makes you feel like your in the movie, It was such a good movie I was thinking about it for days and it really made be think and find more information about the movie. Many people might think that this horror movie is going to be very fake and look its done really badly but after I watched it I could say different, it's not your generic horror movie it truly goes in depth and tells you a backstory and other information a reader would really like to know and how it all started. Without hinting any spoilers, this book has a very good plot it's about a boy and then they realize something terrible is happening and they have yet to find out most doctors think it's a medical mystery but what they find later is truly horrifying. This movie truly left me on the edge of my seat the entire time and that is the reason I would have to rate this movie a 5/5. @Teen15 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Not as impressive as the buzz, INSIDIOUS is mostly innocuous. I love Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson, but even their acting couldn't save this unfrightening horror film. And for me not to find it scary is saying something, since GREMLINS scares me to this day. The film veers too much into the realm of supernatural sci-fi fantasy and deals less with what we've come to expect from the modern horror. It's vastly more psychological than I expected, which isn't a bad thing, but how the filmmakers handle it is what brings it down. It felt contrived and dull; it lacked panache. I failed to believe any of it. For any horror fan, I couldn't recommend it.

Definitely worth watching more than once! I liked it, it was intense most parts. Great cliff hanger!

Five stars! In my opinion, the movie was very tense and every bit of it was juicy. There were a few scary parts but otherwise...Good job!

Don't find too many good horror movies anymore. This was surprisingly very good as were the next 2. Very rarely do you find the 2nd and 3rd movies of a series worth watching but these are.
