Interesting 1951 Hollywood recreation of Caruso's career; apparently with some film changes from real life which his family complained about.

Lanzo does a good job - and Ann Blyth is rather beautiful.

Classical opera isn't one of my musical fav's, but IS a big part of the evolution of show business when it comes to America/Metropolitan, etc.

Well, we already knew that Mario Lanza couldn't act. He does have one brief scene with an interesting point about the demands of fame and/or talent. Some lovely singing, a weak plot, and a surprisingly abrupt ending. (Did they run out of money or time?)
