Delia, an albino, is a newly orphaned girl who is brought to Oddfellow's Orphanage. It is a place where several unusual children live--including the onion head boy, a hedgehog, dancing bears, and the tattooed girl. This book is a day in the life of the orphanage and tells a little bit about each person who lives there.

Although this story is interesting and the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, the characters are underdeveloped. There were so many questions that went unanswered. Why were these children at the orphanage? Why does the boy have an onion head? Who are these children really?

This book is advertized for ages 7-10 however the reading level is really more for grades 4-6. If you are looking for a quick and clean fantasy story, this book would very enjoyable for grades 3-5.

Three stars, but giving an extra star for the artwork, the fantasy aspect for young readers and for a very clean story.
