Quintessential Jane Austen, where romance is abloom, friends are bosom, and class is all that really matters. Emma is a delightful heroine who really speaks to me because she is full of herself, yet she knows it and has fun. With her intelligence, her sheer enjoyment of life, and the airs demanded by her position, all Emma really needs is a gentleman to guide her when she’s occasionally wrong. Austen ensures a suitable match is found by the end, and I couldn’t put it down even it was obvious who was in love with whom underneath all the intrigues and matchmaking.
