In the end, I did enjoy this book. I was rolling my eyes a lot at the beginning because Charlie is such a naïve teen and can someone really be so clueless? But it eventually caught me and I'm so glad I finished it. Yes, there are “adult” themes in it but isn’t growing up part of being a teen? This book is not for everyone (I would have been horrified to read this as a teen; I just wouldn’t have been ready for it) but for some teens, it will feel like someone is speaking just to them.
