If you have a child that just needs a bit more encouragement, perhaps this would be a good fit! Henry Ford had lots of curiosity and "drive" to invent a car, but his creations just kept flopping. Finally he invited himself to a dinner 600 miles away to get a chance to ask Thomas Edison his secret. Not didactic, this is a charming book, even if you aren't trying to build a car!
