mary shelley's book, Frankenstein, written on a dare when she was barely over the cusp of adulthood, is so humongously influential on the movie art culture. i do not just mean the stereotype of the mad scientist. anytime someone's story arc shows a path of one's influence over another, coming back to haunt them, that's mary. but, more, the theme of runaway science hurting innocents. and it turns out the monster is more human than the inventor. the dare was between the world renowned authors, Byron, and Shelley, and the novice writer, mary. Who could write the best science fiction novel? I don't know that Byron or Shelley completed theirs. People go on and on about Young Geniuses, like Mozart and Mendelssohn and Saint Saens. I think Shelley's feat in writing this novel, as impressive.
