This book has brief introductions to lots of different kinds of needlework (cross stitch, blackwork, buck weaving, free embroidery, beadwork, shisha work, crewel, silk ribbon embroidery, stumpwork, shadow work, insertion stitching, net embroidery, metallic thread work, cut work, drawn thread work, pulled fabric work, hardanger, needle weaving, needle lace, smocking, needlepoint and bargello). The plus side is that you will find lots of different forms of needlework in this book that you won't find elsewhere. The downside is that there isn't a lot of information given about each type and the instructions are a bit sparse.
