Dangerous Games
Dangerous Games The Uses and Abuses of History By MacMillan, Margaret, 1943- Book - 2009 | Modern library edition.

A very readable and entertaining exploration of how history is used/misused for a variety of ends. Just the other day, a young friend declared history to be boring and demanded to know why we should bother studying it, since, in his mind, it has no relevance to the present. This book answers that question definitively while also demonstrating that history is far from boring. Margaret Macmillan is a great ambassador for the field.
