I would recommend to read this book for beginners who try to find his own style and clear some "early morning" fog, unless, he is about to jump into the running wheel of attempt of making the prettiest pic in the world. Useful critique of the photography history in the beginning of book, that falls short of proper conclusion. On the other hand I see an attempt to inflate significance of photography over the paintings (and other branches of art.) The constant mentioning that photography is the most surreal type of art, can only evoke the thought that author feels insecure regarding the objects of her obsessions ( surrealism and photography as art.)
