Asian Heritage Month Picks for Kids

May is Asian Heritage Month, a time to showcase the art, history and culture of Canadians of Asian heritage. Check out this list of children’s books that celebrate the diversity, achievements, and contributions of individuals and communities of Asian decent. From tales about ancestral roots to accounts of everyday life, these stories highlight Asian authors and illustrators that capture the diverse experiences of Asian families and children. Learning about Asian heritage—in all its diversity—and seeing authentic Asian representation is important for all kids to see, no matter their background.
