My Favourite Books of the Last 16 Years

Featured Writer Katherine Koller says of this list: "At the recommendation of another writer, I began keeping a reading log book sixteen years ago. In it, I list title and author and a short paragraph of what I liked, or what stood out for me in each book. "This is such a useful tool for when I want to suggest a book to someone else; it also helps me remember because when I write it down, that increases the chances I will, but if I don’t, I can look it up. There are online ways to do this: at Goodreads and other booklover sites, including your Shelf at EPL. Check out 49th Shelf, which regularly recommends and gives away books, or LibraryThing, which helps you catalogue your books read or to read, or Bookmarks, which assembles the best reviews of books each week. An advantage to all online sites is that the cover of the book is readily available, so you can send a friend the image to find the book for themselves. "Here are ten of my favorites, or five-star selections. When I find an author I love, I tend to read more of their work, so this list is actually way more than ten."
